To apply, you'll need to cut out the barcode portion of the outer box and mail it in, so be careful if you're thinking of selling the camera secondhand later. Copies of the receipt and warranty card are also required, so don't throw them out.

Compared with the α7 II it's roughly twice the price, but it's by no means an unreasonable camera for the money. According to the official site, "the maximum standard ISO sensitivity has been raised to ISO 51200," and image quality has been improved by up to 1.5 stops over the α7 II (per the official site as well). It also has a silent shutter, so shutter noise is no longer something to worry about.

A full-frame mirrorless camera that's relatively easy on the wallet, priced at around 120,000 yen (about 1,090 USD) or so. Factor in the 20,000 yen (about 180 USD) cashback and the body alone effectively comes out to around 100,000 yen (about 910 USD).
