NVIDIA is adding 26 new titles to its GeForce NOW cloud gaming service during August[1]. The first batch of eight arrives the week of August 6, led by the free-to-play naval combat game World of Warships: Legends[1]. NVIDIA is also running a booth at QuakeCon in Grapevine, Texas, where attendees can try cloud gaming powered by GeForce RTX 5080 hardware[1].

Eight Games This Week, Led by World of Warships: Legends

These eight titles arrive as August's opening batch[1]:

  • Big Walk (new release on Steam, August 4)
  • Beacon Pines (free on the Epic Games Store from August 6)
  • Sovereign Tower (new release on Steam, August 6)
  • Expeditions: Samurai (new release on Steam, August 7)
  • The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (Xbox, via the Microsoft Store)
  • The Incident at Galley House (Steam)
  • Machine Party (Steam)
  • World of Warships: Legends (Steam)

World of Warships: Legends is the headline addition[1]. It is a free-to-play title where players command destroyers, cruisers and battleships in large multiplayer battles, and it arrives alongside an update that includes the Pacific Hammer Campaign and a new line of U.S. destroyers[1].

The appeal of GeForce NOW here is that these games start instantly with no installs[1]. Skipping a multi-gigabyte download matters most in a month where releases are packed close together.

The Rest of the Month Leans Heavily on Day-One Releases

The remaining titles roll out through August. NVIDIA lists the following[1]:

  • Pax Autocratica (new release on Steam, August 10)
  • Car Wash Simulator (new release on Steam, August 10)
  • Clawed (new release on Steam, August 13)
  • Hell Let Loose: Vietnam (new release on Steam, August 13)
  • Sandustry (new release on Steam and Xbox, August 13, available on Game Pass)
  • The Sinking City 2 (new release on Steam, August 18)
  • Mortal Shell II (new release on Steam, August 20)
  • Gallipoli (new release on Steam, August 20)
  • Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 (new release on Steam, August 25)
  • Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy (new release on Steam and Xbox, August 27, available on Game Pass)
  • Breathedge 2 (new release on Steam, August 30)
  • High on Life (Steam)
  • High on Life 2 (Steam and Xbox, available on Game Pass)
  • Paradise Killer (Steam)
  • Misery (Steam)
  • Pratfall (Steam)
  • Starvester (Steam)

Day-one cloud availability stands out more than back-catalog additions this month. Sequels and major series entries such as Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, Mortal Shell II, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 and The Sinking City 2 are clustered in the second half of August[1].

Sandustry, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and High on Life 2 are flagged as available on Game Pass, so a subscription entitlement carries over to the cloud[1].

QuakeCon Demos Show RTX 5080-Class Streaming

NVIDIA is exhibiting at QuakeCon, held August 6 to 9 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas[1][2]. The booth is showing Ultimate-tier cloud gaming running on GeForce RTX 5080 hardware[1].

Two setups are on hand: an ultrawide display running at up to 5K resolution and 120 frames per second, and the Lenovo Legion Go S handheld[1]. NVIDIA is also highlighting how sessions carry across laptops, Macs, handhelds, phones and TVs, letting players resume where they left off[1]. Bethesda titles are playable at the show, and anyone not attending can buy a day pass to try the same Ultimate setup on their own device[1].

Hitting 5K at 120 frames per second normally requires a high-end local GPU. Demonstrating it over a stream is a direct expression of what GeForce NOW is for: NVIDIA upgrades the hardware on its side so players are not tied to their own upgrade cycle.

July Ended With 15 More Games Than Announced

NVIDIA also looked back at July. Beyond the dozen titles announced at the start of that month, another 15 games joined the library[1]. Those additions included Capcom back-catalog releases and demos such as Breath of Fire IV, Dino Crisis, Dino Crisis 2 and Onimusha: Way of the Sword DEMO, along with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (Ubisoft Connect) and Halo: Campaign Evolved[1].

Monthly lineups grow past their initial announcement because NVIDIA keeps publishing updates every Thursday under its GFN Thursday cadence. The August count of 26 may well be higher by the end of the month.

Summary

August on GeForce NOW opens with eight titles including World of Warships: Legends, building to 26 additions across the month. Day-one cloud releases dominate, with notable entries such as Hell Let Loose: Vietnam and Mortal Shell II landing from mid-month onward. At QuakeCon, NVIDIA is demonstrating Ultimate-tier streaming on GeForce RTX 5080 hardware, shown both on an ultrawide display at up to 5K and 120fps and on a handheld. Given that July gained 15 titles beyond its announced list, August's total may not be final either.
