NVIDIA used Gamescom 2026 to announce a batch of new GeForce NOW features[1]. Members will be able to fine-tune the individual pieces of DLSS 4.5 themselves, and the service is widening its reach to Steam Machine, Firefox and Amazon Fire TV. Five headline games, including CONTROL Resonant, will also arrive in the cloud on their launch day.

DLSS 4.5 Controls Come to the Cloud

This fall, Ultimate members get access to DLSS 4.5 controls inside GeForce NOW[1]. The idea is that even without the latest GPU sitting on your desk, you can steer how the cloud-side GeForce RTX hardware renders a supported game.

Three controls are on offer, each pulling in a different direction. DLSS Super Resolution sharpens image quality, Dynamic Frame Generation reduces latency and stutter for smoother streaming, and Ray Reconstruction improves ray-traced visuals. Together they let members lean toward image quality, toward responsiveness, or somewhere in between, on a per-game basis.

Ray Reconstruction itself has already begun rolling out to desktop players through an Early Access NVIDIA app update, and it works across GeForce RTX GPUs regardless of generation[2]. The cloud-side controls extend that same approach into streaming.

NVIDIA says practical guidance on enabling DLSS 4.5 overrides, and on how far Dynamic Frame Generation lets members push graphics settings while keeping streaming smooth, will follow in upcoming GFN Thursday posts[1].

More Places, and Easier Ways, to Start Playing

The supported-hardware list is growing at the same time. Support for Steam Machine with Steam Controller arrives later this fall, followed by Windows and macOS[1]. It builds on existing Steam Deck support, and NVIDIA describes it as a frequently requested addition from the community.

On the storefront side, GOG single sign-on is now available. Link the account once and supported games sync automatically, launching in a single click without signing in to GOG again. A dedicated GOG row in the app surfaces titles such as Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. Because TV platforms stay signed in automatically, starting a session from the living room takes fewer steps.

In the browser, Firefox is now officially supported, completing coverage of the major Windows browsers. There is no dedicated app to install — visiting play.geforcenow.com is enough, and Ultimate members can stream at up to 1440p and 120 frames per second. Downloads, installs and updates are handled in the cloud, so local storage stays free.

Amazon Fire TV support is expanding to the Fire TV Stick 4K Select. GeForce NOW first launched on Fire TV devices earlier this year, and this widens that footprint. Later this year, Fire TV users will also be able to buy GeForce NOW memberships directly through Amazon.

Five Games Hitting the Cloud on Launch Day

Five newly announced titles will be on GeForce NOW the day they release: CONTROL Resonant, Gears of War: E-Day, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, The Blood of Dawnwalker and STAR WARS Zero Company[1].

CONTROL Resonant comes from Remedy Entertainment and is set in a Manhattan overrun by paranatural threats, with players wielding Dylan Faden's powers. Gears of War: E-Day, from The Coalition, goes back 14 years before the original Gears of War. Onimusha: Way of the Sword is Capcom's new entry, built around swordplay in a twisted Edo-period Kyoto. The Blood of Dawnwalker is Bandai Namco's 14th-century European tale, and STAR WARS Zero Company is a single-player turn-based game set during the twilight of the Clone Wars.

There is a limited-time offer attached: buy a 12-month GeForce NOW Ultimate membership and receive CONTROL Resonant at launch at no extra cost. The window runs from August 25 to September 27. Ultimate members stream these titles with GeForce RTX 5080-class performance in the cloud, including DLSS 4, ray tracing, NVIDIA Reflex and Cinematic Quality Streaming, at up to 5K HDR on supported devices.

NVIDIA is also running a Gamescom community giveaway with more than 40 prizes. Those include a MacBook Neo, Steam Deck or Chromebook paired with a one-year Ultimate membership, plus Amazon Fire TV Sticks and Ultimate memberships ranging from one month to one year. Thirteen games join the cloud this week. Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 streams at launch, alongside new releases Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and STAR WARS Zero Company, plus GOG versions of Baldur's Gate 3, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and No Man's Sky. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 open beta is included from August 28 through September 1. Worth noting: the dates refer to each store's release schedule, and titles are onboarded to GeForce NOW over the course of the week.

Summary

This round of announcements pulls in three directions at once: handing image-quality and responsiveness decisions to members through DLSS 4.5 controls, widening the entry points across Steam Machine, Firefox and Fire TV, and lining up major titles for launch-day cloud availability. The range of new games you can reach without upgrading hardware has grown a little further. Starting with the parts that are already live, such as launching from Firefox or linking a GOG account, is the easiest way in.
