iOS 12.3 has been released and is already available for download on iOS devices. This update brings support for Japan's new era name, "Reiwa."
AirPlay 2
- With AirPlay 2, you can stream videos, photos, and music directly from an iPhone or iPad to AirPlay 2-enabled smart TVs.
- With a single tap, the last TV show or movie you watched picks up automatically based on time and location.
- AirPlay options have been added to Siri's suggestions for movies and TV shows.
- Intelligent typing suggestions are processed entirely on the device to protect your personal privacy.
Apple TV App
- A completely redesigned look highlights curated collections and personalized recommendations.
- Apple TV channel subscriptions can be shared with up to six family members—no new apps, accounts, or passwords required.
- In addition to new releases, you can buy or rent from a full catalog of more than 100,000 movies and the largest selection of 4K HDR titles in the Apple TV app.
- The app also intelligently suggests playback on the nearest Apple TV or AirPlay 2-enabled television.
The following bug fixes and improvements are also included:
- Adds support for Japan's new era name "Reiwa" in the Japanese calendar
- Apple Music's "For You" tab now updates multiple times a day, suggesting music based on themes such as your favorite genres, artists, and moods
- Fixes an issue where the Apple TV Remote could not pause video, control video playback, or adjust volume on supported receivers
- Addresses an issue where calls placed over Wi-Fi Calling could be dropped
- Fixes an issue where song information from a connected iPhone was not displayed on car displays
