It's a shame Japan isn't included, but given how popular Ghibli works are domestically, maybe online streaming just isn't something they can do casually here. If you live in one of the eligible countries, you might even get to enjoy local dubbed versions that are rarely seen in Japan — could be a nice bonus. According to the same account, the titles set to start streaming on February 1 are as follows:
- Castle in the Sky
- My Neighbor Totoro
- Kiki's Delivery Service
- Only Yesterday
- Porco Rosso
- Ocean Waves
- Tales from Earthsea
Next up, the titles starting March 1:
- Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
- Princess Mononoke
- Spirited Away
- The Cat Returns
- The Secret World of Arrietty
- The Tale of the Princess Kaguya
And from April 1:
- Pom Poko
- Whisper of the Heart
- Howl's Moving Castle
- Ponyo
- From Up on Poppy Hill
- The Wind Rises
- When Marnie Was There
With a lineup like this, it definitely seems worth subscribing — though it's just not available in Japan, of course. Either way, it should be a great chance for people all around the world to get to know Japanese animation.
