Sennheiser has announced the ACCENTUM Clip, open-ear true wireless earbuds that clip onto the edge of your ear so you can keep hearing your surroundings while listening to music. The earbuds pair a 12mm driver and LDAC support for high-quality audio with a featherlight design of about 6.8 grams per bud and up to 36 hours of battery life when used with the case. They will roll out in Canada first, with no release planned in the US for now.

An open-ear design that lets the outside world in

The ACCENTUM Clip is a clip-style open-ear earbud that does not seal the ear canal but instead hooks onto the edge of the ear. Because your ears stay open, everyday sounds such as voices, announcements, and traffic still reach you naturally while you listen to music. That makes the design well suited to moments when you are doing something else at the same time, like staying aware of station announcements during a commute or picking up your coffee between meetings.

Sennheiser says it set out to address a problem open-ear designs have often faced, where the open, comfortable fit comes at the cost of sound quality. Rather than relying on an electronic pass-through mode to let outside sound in, the company aimed to balance natural ambient awareness and music through the physical design itself.

A 12mm driver and LDAC support

At the heart of the sound is a 12mm dynamic driver, tuned for clarity, punchy bass, and smooth treble. The earbuds are Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified, and on compatible devices listeners can enable the LDAC codec for high-bitrate, high-resolution streaming. They support the SBC and AAC codecs by default, along with Google Fast Pair for quick pairing.

A Dynamic EQ automatically compensates for the bass and treble that tend to thin out at lower volumes. The companion Smart Control Plus app adds further control, including a 5-band equalizer, shareable sound presets, and a Sound Check tool that guides you to your preferred settings while you listen.

About 6.8 grams per bud and up to 36 hours of battery

Each earbud weighs about 6.8 grams, which Sennheiser likens to a hotel key card and its sleeve. A flexible silicone bridge follows the shape of the ear to keep the buds in place, maintaining a stable fit and consistent sound even during a commute or an intense workout. An IP54 rating protects against dust and sweat, so they are easy to use at the gym or outdoors.

The battery lasts up to 9 hours on a single charge, extending to a total of up to 36 hours when used with the included case. A 10-minute rapid charge over the USB Type-C cable delivers about 2 hours of playback, which is handy for a quick top-up before heading out. Controls are handled through textured touch surfaces that are easy to find by feel, covering volume, playback, and calls. The design is also tuned so that sound does not leak out easily, helping to keep the listening to the wearer alone.

Bluetooth 6.0 and AI noise reduction

The ACCENTUM Clip uses Bluetooth 6.0, offering fast pairing, multipoint connectivity to two devices at once, and independent use of either earbud on its own. For calls, each earbud carries a dual-microphone system paired with an AI noise reduction algorithm to separate the wearer's voice from background noise.

Pricing, regional rollout, and the wait for Japan

The ACCENTUM Clip comes in two colorways, Black and Cream, and ships in plastic-free, eco-friendly packaging. Canada gets it first: from July 23, 2026, it will be sold through Sennheiser's official site and Best Buy at a suggested retail price of 269.95 CAD (about 31,000 yen).

It is also expected to arrive at 149 GBP (about 32,000 yen) in the UK and 179.90 EUR (about 33,000 yen) in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, with a rollout in China and parts of Central and South America as well. The US, however, is not currently slated to get the earbuds, and there is no word yet on a Japanese release date or price. ※Exchange rates (as of June 29, 2026): 1 CAD = about 114 JPY, 1 GBP = about 214 JPY, 1 EUR = about 184 JPY

Summary

The ACCENTUM Clip is a new open-ear earbud from Sennheiser that pursues sound quality despite its open clip design, thanks to a 12mm driver, LDAC support, and a Dynamic EQ. It also covers the practical bases for daily use, with a roughly 6.8-gram-per-bud build, up to 36 hours of battery life, an IP54 rating, and Bluetooth 6.0. It looks like a strong option for anyone who wants to enjoy music while staying aware of their surroundings, though for now availability is limited and a Japanese launch remains an open question.
