A hands-on video of the still-unannounced Galaxy S26 FE from SAMSUNG has made its way online. It shows the phone in blue, the shape of the rear camera area, and even One UI 9 running on top of Android 17. That is an unusually complete look at a device that has not been introduced yet, and lining it up with the spec leaks from last week, the outline of this phone is now fairly clear.
What the video actually shows
The leak is a short hands-on clip that spread through a TikTok account. The unit being filmed is a blue model.
The most noticeable detail is the rear camera area, which sits raised above the surrounding panel as a distinct island. It belongs to the design language SAMSUNG calls Ambient Island, but it reads differently here than it does on the other three S26 models. The FE appears to be getting its own interpretation of it.
Ahead of this, case maker ARMOR-X had already given the shape away by listing compatible cases. Those listings also hinted at a pale green finish that looks like a Pistachio shade. The front and sides follow on from the Galaxy S25 FE, while the back moves closer to the higher-end S series and Fold series. That is the direction the run of leaks points to.
One UI 9 on board, with Galaxy AI features intact
The other thing the video confirms is the software. One UI 9, based on Android 17, is running, and Galaxy AI features are included.
Two are clearly visible: Photo Assist for image editing, and Document Scan for capturing documents. On the camera side, Horizon Lock, which keeps shots level even when the phone is tilted, is also available.
The FE line has usually been positioned so that features introduced first on the flagships arrive in trimmed-down form. Judging by this video, at least the AI tools and the shooting aids are coming down unchanged. Differentiate on hardware, not on software, seems to be the approach.
Consistent with last week's spec leak
The specifications leaked roughly a week before the video, covering almost every line item. Nothing in the footage contradicts them so far.
The display is a 6.7-inch AMOLED at 2,340 x 1,080, with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,900 nits peak brightness. The processor is the 3nm Exynos 2500. Memory is 8GB, with 128GB and 256GB storage options listed.
The rear camera is a triple setup: a 50-megapixel wide main sensor at f/1.8, an ultrawide at f/2.2, and an 8-megapixel telephoto with 3x optical zoom at f/2.4. The front camera is 12 megapixels at f/2.2.
The battery is 4,900mAh, described as using a silicon-carbon cell, with 45W wired fast charging. The body comes in at 7.4mm thick and 193 grams, with IP68 dust and water resistance.
On paper none of that is flashy. The one line worth watching is memory holding at 8GB, which will divide opinion depending on where the retail price lands. A phone sold on its AI features that does not gain memory looks like a deliberate gap left between it and the flagships.
A September announcement looks likely
SAMSUNG has confirmed nothing officially, not the name, not the date, not the specifications. The timing is still reasonably easy to estimate.
The report carrying the hands-on video suggests the phone could arrive as early as the first week of September. Separately, there is talk of an announcement timed to the media days at IFA in early September. Given that previous FE models have landed in early autumn, that window is a sensible read.
Cases appear first, specifications leak next, and a hands-on video comes last. That sequence is typical of a product close to release. What remains unknown is the price, the release date, and whether the phone will be sold in Japan.
