On August 31 (US time), SAMSUNG announced a new 14-inch model for its Galaxy Book6 laptop series. It carries the same design language as the higher-end Ultra and Pro, but starts at 799.99 USD (about 126,000 yen) in the US, positioning it as an entry model for everyday computing. This is not a product built to dazzle with flashy new features. It is designed to handle daily work such as web browsing, document editing, video calls, and streaming comfortably while keeping the price down.

25 hours of battery, 45W charging, and Core Series 3 inside

Battery life is the headline. A 61.2Wh battery delivers up to 25 hours on a single charge. The included 45W USB Type-C adapter supports fast charging and brings the battery to roughly 33 percent in 30 minutes.

The processor is Intel's latest Core Series 3, available as Core 3 or Core 5 depending on the configuration. It integrates an NPU rated at up to 15 TOPS that handles Galaxy AI and other AI workloads. Memory options are 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X, with 256GB or 512GB PCIe SSD storage. Wireless connectivity covers Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4, and the OS is Windows 11 Home or Pro (25H2).

15.7mm, 1.35kg, and a first-ever Violet Silver

The chassis measures 15.7mm thick and weighs 1.35kg, with a footprint of 313.0 x 221.0mm. It keeps the clean, symmetrical lines and centered logo that define the Galaxy Book6 family. Alongside the classic Gray, a Violet Silver finish is offered for the first time on a Galaxy Book.

The display is a 14-inch WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) LCD rated at 350 nits. The taller 16:10 aspect ratio and anti-reflective treatment are meant to make long sessions with documents and web pages easier on the eyes.

For an entry model, the port selection is generous. There are two USB Type-C ports with identical functionality, so there is no guessing which one to use. It also has USB Type-A, HDMI 1.4 with 4K/30Hz output, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, letting users connect external displays and peripherals without adapters. The keyboard is a non-backlit model, the stereo speakers are 2W x 2 with Dolby Atmos support, and the webcam is a 2-megapixel 1080p unit.

Where it shines: working with Galaxy phones and tablets

Even at this price, SAMSUNG leans on its cross-device Galaxy features. AI Select pulls up related information for anything you pick on screen and includes AI cut out, which instantly removes image backgrounds for presentations or product photos. Note Assist summarizes notes and surfaces the key points.

For moving files, Quick Share is joined by Storage Share, which lets the PC browse photos and videos on a Galaxy smartphone directly without transferring them first, so a photo taken on the phone can go straight into a document. Multi Control lets one keyboard and mouse drive multiple Galaxy devices, and Second Screen turns a Galaxy Tab into a secondary display. Nearby Devices simplifies discovery and pairing, and Link to Windows carries smartphone features over to the PC.
