Club 3D of the Netherlands announced the CAC-2509 USB4 cable on August 4 local time. It runs 9 meters end to end without a single active component inside the cable, which the company bills as a world first for a fully passive design. A single run carries 20Gbps of data, video output up to 8K at 60Hz, and 100W of USB Power Delivery. Alongside it, Club 3D also unveiled the CAC-2507, a USB4-capable Type-C female-to-female adapter.
Why 9 Meters Is Unusual
High-speed signals lose strength as a cable gets longer. That penalty is especially steep for a wide-bandwidth standard like USB4, and the market norm has been that a passive cable can hold 20Gbps up to roughly 2 meters, or 3 meters at a stretch.
Going farther than that has meant reaching for an active cable with a redriver IC inside, or a fiber optic product. Active designs come with their own friction: the connection is often directional so you cannot simply flip the ends, the electronics draw power, and the price climbs. The longer the run a site needs, the more those constraints shape the installation.
The CAC-2509 stretches a copper passive design to 9 meters instead. Club 3D credits low-loss conductors, careful shielding, controlled impedance, and tight manufacturing tolerances. No signal boosters and no external power are involved, so it plugs in like any ordinary USB Type-C cable.
Video, Data, and Power on One Run
Bandwidth is 20Gbps. Video tops out at 8K (7,680 by 4,320 pixels) at 60Hz, or 4K (3,840 by 2,160 pixels) at 240Hz if refresh rate matters more. The 8K/60Hz mode is rated for RGB 4:4:4 output, meaning color information is not subsampled.
Power delivery uses a PD 3.0 E-Marker and reaches 100W. That makes it feasible to charge a notebook, drive an external display, and work through a docking station over the same cable 9 meters away. The cable ships in black and carries CE and RoHS certification.

Club 3D points to conference rooms, VR setups, docking station desks, and professional AV installations as the target scenarios. It also calls out pairing a notebook with a KVM-equipped display, which should help environments that have been compromising on layout because of the distance between the seat and the screen. European pricing is quoted at 82 euros (about 15,000 yen).

The CAC-2507 Fills the Last Few Centimeters
The second product, the CAC-2507, is a female-to-female adapter for joining two USB Type-C cables end to end. It is an unglamorous part, but the numbers behind it are ambitious for a coupler.
It handles 40Gbps of data, video up to 8K at 60Hz, and 240W under Extended Power Range (EPR), all in a body weighing about 4 grams. The idea is that you can extend the short captive cables found on docking stations, external SSDs, and USB hubs without giving up USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 performance.
Extension adapters tend to live in a gray area of the specification, and plenty of them quietly cut bandwidth or power. Stating those figures outright is what gives this small part its value. It approaches the problem from the opposite direction of a 9-meter cable, but both answer the same complaint: the cable is not long enough.
Summary
The CAC-2509 is notable for taking a distance that used to belong to active and fiber optic cables and covering it with a fully passive design at 20Gbps, 8K/60Hz, and 100W. With no boosters and no external power, there is nothing to think about regarding direction or wall warts. The companion CAC-2507 is a 40Gbps, 240W extension adapter aimed at splicing short cables. For conference rooms, AV installations, and docking setups built around long cable runs, both widen the options available at design time.
