Nothing will introduce a new affordable model of its true wireless earbuds, the Nothing Ear (3a), on July 7 (Japan time). In a teaser, the company revealed the launch date and color lineup, confirming white, black, and yellow, plus pink for the first time in a Nothing product. A leak puts the price at 99 euros (about 18,000 yen), but nothing has been officially confirmed. The smartphone Nothing Phone (4b) is set to debut on the same day.

Debuting July 7 in the Same Stream as the Phone (4b)

What Nothing has officially shared is a schedule to introduce the Ear (3a) from noon local time (German time) on July 7. Converted to Japan time, that is around 7:00 p.m. on the same day. The reveal will take place in the same livestream as the Nothing Phone (4b), which is also due to be shown, so a single event brings two new products.

The short teaser video uses a summery DJ theme built around a spinning turntable, paired with the line "Only dating DJs this summer." It reads as a clear positioning: earbuds meant to be taken out and used to enjoy music casually. Showing a smartphone and earbuds together is also an efficient approach, letting one product act as an advertisement for the other.

Four Colors, With the New Pink Standing Out

The record shown in the teaser listed four colors: white, black, yellow, and pink. White, black, and yellow are familiar from past Nothing products, but the vivid pink is new. For entry-level models, where features tend to be trimmed, color itself often becomes a reason to buy, so a fuller color lineup is an easy-to-grasp selling point. Whether pink will be sold in every country and region is expected to remain unclear until July 7.

The existence of the product is also backed up by a model number, B190, that appeared in an Indonesian certification database. That listing, however, did not reveal any technical specifications.

Is 99 Euros Real? Price and Positioning

The figure being repeated everywhere is 99 euros. This calls for some care: the number was not announced by Nothing but reported by a leaker. At this point, all Nothing has officially confirmed is the date, time, and colors.

Even so, the price carries some weight. The previous-generation Ear (a) launched at 99 euros in 2024, and holding the same price this time would be an aggressive move amid continued cost increases for parts such as memory. The higher-end Ear (3) launched at 179 euros (about 33,000 yen) and has since come down to around 129 euros (about 24,000 yen). If the Ear (3a) does arrive at 99 euros, it becomes a far more accessible option. Exchange rate (as of July 2, 2026): 1 euro = about 184 yen

In Nothing's naming, the lowercase "a" denotes a cost-conscious, practicality-focused model. The Ear (3a) sits between the most basic Ear (a) and the standard Ear (3), and looks set to be a product that gathers a select subset of current-generation features into a 99-euro package.

The Real Question: Will ANC and LDAC Survive?

Official spec sheets are not yet available. The clues come from the predecessor and the flagship. The Ear (a) already offered ANC (active noise cancellation), LDAC support, and 11 mm drivers, but no wireless charging. The higher-end Ear (3) adds adaptive ANC up to 45 dB, 12 mm drivers, and a "Super Mic" built into the charging case. That microphone is designed to clearly pick up voices for calls and voice memos even in noisy places.

The focus, then, is whether the Ear (3a) inherits the Super Mic or drops it to differentiate from the higher model. Several observers think the Super Mic and wireless charging are likely to be left out, while ANC and LDAC stand a good chance of remaining. If ANC, LDAC, and solid sound quality are kept, it could press hard on price not only against rivals like Soundcore but also against Bose and Sony, which are often about 50 euros more in the mid-range. Cut too many features, and it risks staying a nicely colored entry-level model. The answer comes on July 7.

Summary

The Nothing Ear (3a) is a budget earbud set to be announced on July 7 alongside the Phone (4b). The launch date and all four colors (including the new pink) are confirmed, but the 99-euro price is still at the leak stage and awaits an official announcement. The key is how many features Nothing can pack into that price. If ANC, LDAC, and adequate sound quality remain, it could be a strong pick in the sub-20,000-yen range. First, the July 7 reveal is where we will confirm the actual specs and price.
