MINISFORUM has announced the M2 PRO-358H, a mini PC built around Intel's latest Core Ultra X7 358H. Combined AI performance across the CPU, GPU and NPU reaches up to 180 TOPS, and the 1.81-liter chassis houses a 135W power supply internally. Shipping is scheduled for September 25, with the 32GB memory and 1TB SSD configuration listed at 251,999 yen including tax on the company's own store.

A Panther Lake Core Ultra X7 358H at the Center

The Core Ultra X7 358H inside the M2 PRO-358H is a Panther Lake generation mobile processor manufactured on Intel's 18A process. It offers 16 cores and 16 threads, 18MB of cache and a maximum boost clock of 4.8GHz.

Mini PCs have tended to adopt mobile CPUs a generation behind, once pricing settles down. The M2 PRO breaks that pattern by picking up the newest architecture early. Memory is 32GB of LPDDR5X-7467MT/s soldered to the board, trading upgradability for bandwidth. Windows 11 Pro is preinstalled.

Where the 180 TOPS Comes From, and Real Local LLM Numbers

The headline 180 TOPS figure breaks down into 122 TOPS from the integrated Intel Arc B390 graphics and 50 TOPS from the NPU. Arc B390 carries 12 Xe3 cores with second-generation ray tracing, XMX acceleration and support for XeSS 3 with frame generation.

What stands out is that MINISFORUM published concrete numbers from its own testing. Running locally, gpt-oss-20b reached 36.24 tokens per second and a 26B-class Gemma 4 model hit 32.3 tokens per second. If a 20B-class model clears 30 tokens per second on a machine this size, keeping document summarization and coding assistance entirely local becomes a practical option. Supported inference paths include OpenVINO, Windows ML, DirectML, ONNX Runtime and WebNN.

Graphics figures were shared as well: a 3DMark Time Spy graphics score of 7,334, and more than 65 fps in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p in performance mode. On the media side, hardware handling covers H.264, H.265 and AV1, with H.266 (VVC) decode also supported.

Three M.2 Slots, 10GbE and Triple USB4

Expansion is unusually generous for a mini PC. Three M.2 2280 NVMe SSD slots are on board, two wired as PCIe 4.0 x4 and one as PCIe 4.0 x1. Each accepts up to 8TB, for a maximum of 24TB total. An SD card slot is included as well, which suits reading camera footage directly.

Wired networking is split across two independent controllers: 10Gbps via a Realtek RTL8127 and 2.5Gbps via an Intel I226-LM. That allows a direct 10GbE link to a NAS while the 2.5GbE side stays on the regular network, without adding a card. Wireless covers Wi-Fi 7 (Intel BE211) and Bluetooth 6.0.

There are three USB4 ports, all rated at 40Gbps with DisplayPort 2.1 Alt Mode and 15W PD output. One of the rear USB4 ports also accepts 65W to 100W PD input. Display output combines HDMI 2.1 FRL (8K/60Hz, 4K/120Hz, CEC), DisplayPort 1.4 (4K/144Hz) and the USB4 ports for up to four simultaneous screens. Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports sit on the front and one USB 2.0 Type-A on the back.

A 135W Supply Inside 1.81 Liters, Plus Fingerprint and Copilot Keys

The chassis measures 195 x 195 x 47.5mm and weighs 1.39kg, working out to 1.81 liters. Fitting a 135W power supply inside avoids the bulky external brick that usually ends up under the desk. Power draw is roughly 80W under full load in performance mode and 6.6W at idle, numbers aimed at machines that stay on around the clock.

Cooling pairs phase-change thermal material and dual heat pipes with a dedicated CPU turbo fan. MINISFORUM states the CPU stays under 79°C and SSDs under 40°C at maximum load. Noise is quoted at about 29 dBA at idle and about 31 dBA under load in balanced and quiet modes measured at 50cm, rising to 43 dBA in performance mode.

For daily use, a one-touch fingerprint sensor sits on the top panel, with a Copilot button and dual digital microphones on the front. A Kensington lock slot makes it easier to deploy as a shared or loaner machine in an office. Placement options include horizontal, vertical and monitor-rear mounting using the bundled bracket.

Price and Availability

Shipping is scheduled for September 25. The 32GB memory and 1TB SSD model is listed at 251,999 yen including tax on MINISFORUM's Japanese official store, against a regular price of 314,999 yen including tax, a discount of 63,000 yen at the time of writing. Japanese buyers get a 24-month product warranty, 30-day return and refund coverage, and domestic repair service.

A price in the 250,000 yen range clearly places this at the high end of the mini PC market. Even so, assembling an equivalent build with 10GbE, three USB4 ports, three M.2 slots and enough AI performance to run local LLMs would not fit into the same volume in the first place. For anyone who wants both a small footprint and real expansion, the pricing has a defensible logic.

Summary

The M2 PRO-358H is an early adopter of the Panther Lake generation Core Ultra X7 358H, packing 180 TOPS of combined GPU and NPU performance into a 1.81-liter body. Three M.2 slots, dual 10GbE and 2.5GbE wired networking and three USB4 ports sit alongside practical touches such as the internal 135W supply, fingerprint sensor and Copilot button. It ships September 25 at 251,999 yen including tax in the 32GB and 1TB configuration, positioning itself for local AI work and home lab duty at the same time.
