Lenovo introduced a new consumer laptop line called IdeaPad Vibe on September 3, 2026, at Lenovo Innovation World 2026, its own event held in Berlin. The series is built around seven colors developed with the Pantone Color Institute and keycaps that owners can buy separately and swap themselves. It comes in 14-inch and 15-inch sizes, and European sales begin in October 2026 from 799 euros (about 145,000 yen).

A Laptop That Starts With Color, Not Specs

New laptops are usually introduced through performance or thinness. IdeaPad Vibe sets that aside and puts the color of the chassis first. Jun Ouyang, who leads Lenovo's consumer business, said expectations for PCs are shifting: some buyers prioritize performance, while others want a device that suits their personal style.

The seven finishes are Dreamy Violet, a muted purple; Spicy Gold, a warm golden yellow; Zen Green, a nature-inspired green; Chill Blue, a crisp icy blue; Radiant Coral, a bright orange-leaning coral; Moody Blue, a deep blue; and Lowkey Grey, an understated grey. The Pantone Color Institute took part in choosing them, drawing on colors people encounter in daily life. Brian Leonard, who oversees design innovation, said color is the most personal decision people make when picking a device.

Keycaps in contrasting colors are also offered as separate accessories, so buyers can change them after purchase. Which colors are stocked and how they are sold varies by country, so availability in any given market needs to be checked locally.

Two Silicon Paths: Snapdragon and AMD

Configurations split into two groups. One uses Snapdragon X with Copilot+ PC support and offers up to 24GB of memory, though it is soldered and cannot be upgraded. The other uses AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series chips and provides two memory slots for up to 32GB that owners can expand themselves. Both types carry two M.2 SSD slots for up to 1TB. The operating system is Windows 11 Home.

The 14-inch model tops out at a WUXGA OLED panel and the 15-inch at a 2.1K OLED, each covering 100 percent of DCI-P3. OLED is limited to the Lowkey Grey and Moody Blue finishes, however, so the remaining five colors come with an IPS panel running at up to 120Hz. Buyers effectively choose between color and panel type. Touch support is optional.

The metal chassis measures as little as 14.9mm at its thinnest point, with weight starting at 1.3kg for the 14-inch and 1.5kg for the 15-inch. The standard battery is 50Whr, and AMD configurations can be ordered with a 65Whr pack instead. Charging tops out at 50W with the smaller battery and 65W with the larger one.

Ports and Expansion Were Not Trimmed Away

Ports that thin laptops often drop are still present here. The right side carries two USB Standard-A connectors, while the left holds HDMI 1.4 and two USB Type-C ports, along with a combo audio jack and a microSD card reader. The Type-C ports handle DisplayPort output and power delivery, but data runs at 5Gbps.

The camera is 5 megapixels and comes in either an infrared version for face sign-in or a standard one. Both include a physical shutter that covers the lens when it is not in use. Audio comes from two 2W speakers with Dolby Audio, and the display carries TÜV Low Blue Light certification. Wireless is either Wi-Fi 6 with Bluetooth 5.3 or Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4.

Lenovo says Intel-based configurations will follow later, without giving a date.

The IdeaCentre AIO i All-in-One Was Refreshed Alongside It

The same announcement brought a new generation of the IdeaCentre AIO i all-in-one desktop. It offers 23.8-inch and 27-inch full HD panels running at up to 120Hz with 350 nits of brightness. Processing comes from Intel Core Series 3 chips, with the platform rated at up to 40 TOPS of AI performance.

Structurally, the computing box that used to sit behind the display has been removed, leaving a cleaner back panel. The stand allows 30mm of height adjustment and tilts from -5 to 15 degrees. Audio is by Harman, and the machine carries six USB ports plus HDMI input and output. Wireless charging and a touch display are optional.

Color choice widens here too, with Cloud Grey, Luna Grey, Zen Green, Chill Blue, Dreamy Violet, and Radiant Coral available. There is also an Adaptive Lighting feature that changes how the machine is lit, though it will arrive in a later update.

Lenovo Qira Ships on Select Configurations

Some configurations in the new Idea lineup include Lenovo Qira, the company's personal AI experience. Using Workato-powered connections, it links to email, calendar, and collaboration services so that a natural-language request can locate relevant information and carry through to the next action. It spans PCs as well as phones, tablets, and wearables. It is not available on every model or configuration, and availability varies by market.

Pricing and Availability

The 14-inch and 15-inch IdeaPad Vibe models arrive in October 2026 with an expected starting price of 799 euros (about 145,000 yen). The 23.8-inch and 27-inch IdeaCentre AIO i models follow in November 2026, expected to start at 999 euros (about 180,000 yen). Both figures are estimates that exclude tax and shipping and will vary by country, configuration, and sales channel. Availability in Japan has not been announced.

1 EUR = 181 JPY

Summary

IdeaPad Vibe widens the visual choices in a consumer laptop through seven Pantone-curated colors and swappable keycaps. Internally it splits into Snapdragon X and AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series paths, with the AMD side allowing memory upgrades. OLED is restricted to two of the seven colors, but keeping the full port selection and dual SSD slots should matter in daily use. European sales start in October from 799 euros, with the IdeaCentre AIO i all-in-one following in November from 999 euros.
