CMF, the sub-brand of Nothing, will unveil a new audio product called the Clip Pro on August 4, 2026. The official X account has committed to the name and the date, but almost everything else remains hidden behind teaser renders showing a perforated grille and a couple of colorways. As the name suggests, the product is widely expected to be a clip-on, open-ear model.

The Official Posts Gave Only a Name and a Date

The teaser run started on July 27. The first post used the Pokémon character Igglybuff, a pattern CMF and parent brand Nothing lean on regularly ahead of a launch. On July 30, the official X account followed up with a short line, "Not yet. But soon.", alongside a render of a rounded, single-piece body in a copper finish. A fine perforated grille is visible across the surface.

A second post the same day finally delivered the name and the date. The caption read "Clip Pro. 4 August," and the attached video showed the grille in white and coral. The reveal is scheduled for 9 a.m. Eastern time on August 4, which corresponds to 10 p.m. Japan time on the same day.

Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis said the product marks a new category for CMF, then hinted at the audio angle with a reply carrying a speaker emoji. Calling the category new implies this is not simply another entry in the existing Buds line.

Why Everyone Expects a Clip-On Open-Ear Design

The first specific claim about the product came from Dr. Android (@Teknovist) on X. According to the leaker, the Clip Pro will be a pair of clip-on, open-ear earbuds along the lines of Motorola's Moto Buds Loop, which grip the ear cartilage instead of sitting inside or over the ear. CMF has not confirmed this.

The appeal of the format is that the ear canal stays open, so ambient sound comes through naturally, which suits running and outdoor work. The trade-off is obvious: there is no meaningful isolation, and bass weight falls short of a sealed design. With so many brands converging on the same shape, CMF joining in is hardly a surprise.

A Model Number Surfaced in Singapore

One piece of pre-launch evidence comes from Singapore's IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) certification database. The CMF Clip Pro is listed there under model number B189, classified as wireless Bluetooth earphones. Certification filings accompany sales preparation in each market, so the listing indicates the product is real and close to shipping.

Pricing and full specifications, however, have not been disclosed by CMF at all. Driver configuration, battery life, water resistance rating, and codec support are all questions for August 4. The same goes for case controls: the existing CMF Buds Pro 2 puts a Smart Dial on the case to handle noise cancellation, volume, and playback, so a similar approach is plausible, but nothing about the Clip Pro's case has been confirmed.

Where This Sits in CMF's Audio Range

CMF is the brand Nothing created for lower price points, and its audio efforts have centered on the Buds series. Those are all in-ear designs that keep costs down while putting some personality into controls and finish. Adding an open-ear option would let buyers choose by use case within roughly the same price band.

The fact that Evangelidis specifically used the phrase "new category" suggests the Clip Pro is positioned as a different wearing style rather than a spin-off of the current line. With only days to go, the price point is the biggest remaining question.

Summary

CMF will introduce the Clip Pro on August 4, 2026, in the evening Japan time. What is officially locked in is the name, the date, and colorways that include white and coral; the clip-on open-ear design is still speculation. The IMDA listing under model number B189 is a concrete data point, but any judgment on price and specifications has to wait for the announcement.
