Same-Day Pickup Is Available at the Apple Store

Maybe because some time has passed since launch, when I chose the Apple Store pickup option I was able to walk out with the device the same day, even buying it that morning.

If you'd like, the staff will even do the initial setup for you on the spot and answer any questions you have, so it's really reassuring.

iPhone 11 Pro Photo Review

What I picked up this time is the iPhone 11 Pro 64GB Silver.
The black box gives it a real high-end feel.

When I opened the box, the iPhone was sitting face-down inside.

The back is made of glass with a matte finish — it feels great in hand, and on the silver model fingerprints aren't very noticeable.

About that much-rumored "tapioca camera" — it really has a lot of presence.
The three lenses are split between "telephoto," "wide," and "ultra-wide," each offering 12 MP image quality.

Night mode is supported as well, so I have high hopes for low-light photography.

The sides are made of stainless steel, just like on the iPhone X and others.

The area around the speaker and the Lightning port hasn't changed from the iPhone XS, but for sound features Dolby Atmos has been added, so apparently you can enjoy more spatial-sounding audio.

The accessories include the usual earbuds and a fast-charge-capable AC adapter.

Thanks to its 18 W fast-charging support, it has grown to about twice the size of the previous AC adapter.

When you're in a hurry, using the included 18 W power adapter can charge the device up to 50% in about 30 minutes.

The included cable has changed from USB Type-A to USB Type-C, so if you have a PC that doesn't have a Type-C port, you need to be careful.
In that case, you'll need to either pick up an adapter separately or get hold of a Type-A cable.

If you want to restore or back up your iPhone from a PC, you'll need a cable or adapter that supports data transfer.

From this generation onward, it seems the tip of the Lightning connector is no longer gold-plated.

The manual and the stickers haven't really changed from before.

Hands-On Review

Here's the iPhone with a case and screen protector applied.
At maximum brightness, the display is plenty bright — it doesn't seem like you'd find it too dim outdoors.

Trying out the new spatial audio feature, it felt less like the sound was coming from the speakers and more like it was emanating from the entire display.
The sound is spatial and clean, so it should pair well with rhythm games.

Benchmark Scores

Here are the Geekbench 5 scores for the "A13 Bionic" inside the iPhone 11 Pro.

The iPhone XS scores around 1,110 in Single-Core and around 2,800 in Multi-Core, so you can see it has been upgraded as expected.

This is the Metal score (graphics).
The iPhone XS scores around 4,500 (Geekbench), so this is quite a leap forward.

According to Apple's official site, "Apple-designed GPUs are now up to 20% faster and consume up to 40% less power."

The iPhone 11 Pro Comes Highly Recommended!

With its top-of-the-line A13 Bionic, beautiful OLED display, and improved cameras, the iPhone 11 Pro really is recommended.

The price is on the high side, but if you think of it as buying both a camera and a phone for around 110,000 yen, maybe it's actually pretty reasonable…?

Battery life is also up to four hours longer than on the iPhone XS, so you should be able to enjoy GPS-based games like "Pokémon GO" and "Dragon Quest Walk," 3D games like "CoD Mobile," and many others for longer.
