IT Pro Tech is releasing the LCD15HC-IPSDUAL2, a foldable portable monitor that stacks two 15.6-inch Full HD IPS panels. It rolls out to consumer electronics chains and PC specialty stores across Japan from early August 2026. Open it and you get a tall vertical workspace; fold it and it collapses into an 18mm-thick slab. New to this model are a 360-degree hinge, a display mode switch, and support for independent output on Macs.
18mm thick folded, two 15.6-inch panels open
The unit places two 15.6-inch Full HD (1,920×1,080) non-glossy IPS panels one above the other. Each panel has a 344×193mm active area, 250cd/m² brightness, an 800:1 contrast ratio, 170-degree viewing angles, and 16.77 million colors. The backlight is LED.
Opened, the chassis measures roughly 360×440mm at 7mm and 10mm thick. Folded, it shrinks to about 360×220mm at 18mm thick, and the body alone weighs around 1,420g. Since it folds down to roughly the footprint of a 15.6-inch laptop lid, it slides into a bag as is. There is no built-in battery, so power has to come from the connected device or the bundled USB AC adapter.
Video input covers USB Type-C in DisplayPort Alt Mode as well as HDMI. The port layout consists of two USB Type-C connectors carrying video and power, one USB Type-C for video only, and one mini HDMI. A 1W stereo speaker pair is built in, so online meetings and video playback do not require separate speakers. The box includes a USB AC adapter, an HDMI cable, and a USB Type-C cable, with a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase.
Four display modes, switchable from the chassis
Four display modes are available depending on the task. Copy mode shows the same image on both panels for someone sitting opposite you. Extended mode widens the desktop for running several applications at once. Combined mode joins the two panels into a single large display. Independent mode connects two separate devices, one to each panel.
This generation adds a physical switch that flips between extended and combined mode with a single press. Skipping the trip into the OS display settings to adjust resolution and panel arrangement matters when you are setting up in a hurry away from the office. Input resolution is 1,920×1,080 at up to 60Hz when the panels are split, and 1,920×2,160 at up to 30Hz when they are joined into one screen. That makes it less a device for gaming or video in combined mode and more a way to see spreadsheets and long documents stretched vertically.
The side of the chassis also carries a switch that flips the upper panel upside down, plus switches that turn each panel on and off. Both are aimed at desktop presentations facing another person, or at temporarily hiding a screen you would rather not show.
A 360-degree hinge and independent output on Macs
The clearest step up from the previous model is the 360-degree rotating hinge. Beyond folding flat for storage, it lets you set any angle, so you can tilt a panel toward whoever is across the table.
The second change is stronger Mac support. OS-level limits previously made it awkward to treat the two panels as separate displays, but this model allows independent output on macOS. There is a condition: you need either two USB Type-C cables, one to each panel, or one USB Type-C cable paired with an HDMI cable. With a single cable, both panels show the same image. On Windows 11 or Windows 10, running an extended two-panel setup over a single cable requires a USB Type-C port on the PC that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
As for limitations, HDCP 2.x is not supported and 4K input is not accepted. Without the bundled AC adapter connected, the default settings cap brightness at 70 and volume at 50. In setups where power delivery falls short the picture may look dim, so pairing it with the AC adapter is the safer route for desk use.
Summary
The LCD15HC-IPSDUAL2 takes two 15.6-inch Full HD IPS panels and makes them portable. With a 360-degree hinge, one-touch display mode switching, and independent output on Macs, it is aimed squarely at building a three-screen setup alongside a laptop. Folded, it is 18mm thick and weighs about 1,420g. Sales begin in early August 2026 through consumer electronics chains and PC specialty stores across Japan.
