BenQ Japan is releasing the PD2732U, a 27-inch 4K color management monitor, on July 31 as the first product under its new Creative Pro brand for professional designers. The IPS panel covers 99 percent of Adobe RGB and is paired with a Nano Matte Black surface treatment and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity. The direct web price is 149,800 yen including tax. A 27-inch WQHD model aimed at photographers, the SW272QN, goes on sale the same day.

A 27-Inch 4K Panel Built Around Gamut and Uniformity

The PD2732U uses a 27-inch IPS panel at 3840 by 2160 pixels, which works out to 163 pixels per inch. Brightness is rated at 400 nits, contrast at 1000 to 1, and the panel displays 1.07 billion colors at a 60 Hz refresh rate with a 5 ms response time.

Color coverage reaches 99 percent for Adobe RGB, Display P3 and DCI-P3, and 100 percent for sRGB and Rec.709. That spread covers the standards needed for print, web and video work in a single display. The color mode list includes Adobe RGB, Display P3, Rec.709 and sRGB, along with specialist presets such as monochrome, DICOM and CAD/CAM.

Every unit ships with an individual calibration report, and average Delta E, the metric for color difference where a lower value means a closer match to the reference, is 2 or less. A uniformity function corrects variation in color and brightness across the screen, addressing the gap that often appears between the center and the corners. Third-party certifications include Pantone Validated, Pantone SkinTone Validated and Calman Verified.

The panel surface uses what BenQ calls Nano Matte Black, which scatters ambient light at a nanoscale to cut reflections while keeping blacks deep and contrast intact. In a room where the lights cannot be dimmed, that kind of treatment makes a visible difference when judging color.

Three Features Aimed at Mac Users

The clearest theme in the PD2732U is its focus on working alongside a Mac. M-book mode automatically identifies the connected MacBook model and shifts the monitor toward the color rendition of the built-in display, closing the familiar gap between a laptop screen and an external panel without manual setup.

iDevice Color Sync previews how content will look on an iPhone or iPad before export, so images destined for social media or apps can be checked without transferring them to the device. The monitor also supports iKeyboard Control, letting the brightness keys on a MacBook keyboard adjust both the laptop and the external display at once.

Calibration is handled by AQCOLOR Pilot. Support for the PD2732U arrives in stages, however: the Mac version is scheduled for late July and the Windows version for early October, so Windows users will need to wait. A calibration sensor is sold separately and should be budgeted for.

Thunderbolt 4 and KVM to Cut Down on Cables

Video inputs consist of one HDMI 2.0, one DisplayPort 1.4 and one Thunderbolt 4 port. Thunderbolt 4 carries up to 40 Gbps of data alongside up to 90 W of power over a single cable, so a laptop can run without its own power adapter. There is also a Thunderbolt 4 output with 15 W power delivery, which supports daisy chaining a second 4K monitor.

USB connectivity covers one upstream Type-C port plus three downstream Type-A ports and one downstream Type-C port. A built-in KVM switch lets a single keyboard and mouse drive both a Mac and a Windows machine, which helps anyone who regularly checks deliverables on Windows keep the desk uncluttered. PIP/PBP and ICCsync are supported as well.

The stand tilts 5 degrees down and 20 degrees up, swivels 15 degrees in each direction, pivots 90 degrees and adjusts 115 mm in height. The monitor weighs 8.56 kg and supports 100 by 100 mm VESA mounting. Typical power draw is 42 W. The bundle includes the Hotkey Puck G3 wireless controller, which can be assigned to color modes, input switching and KVM control through its keys and dial.

The SW272QN Ships the Same Day for Photo Work

The SW272QN is a 27-inch WQHD display aimed at photo editing. It uses the same Nano Matte Black panel treatment and matches the PD2732U on gamut coverage, but tightens average Delta E to 1.5 or less. It supports hardware calibration and adds GamutDuo for comparing two color modes side by side on screen, USB-C with up to 90 W power delivery, an SD card slot and a shading hood. The Hotkey Puck G3 is included as standard.

The PD2732U was announced in the United States on July 6 with a suggested retail price of 699 USD (about 114,000 yen). The gap with the Japanese direct price reflects exchange rates and differences in distribution.

※1 USD = 163 JPY (as of July 28, 2026)

Summary

The PD2732U builds on a color foundation of 99 percent Adobe RGB and average Delta E of 2 or less, then layers on the Nano Matte Black panel, single-cable Thunderbolt 4, a KVM switch and Mac color matching. It goes on sale July 31 at a direct web price of 149,800 yen. The one item worth checking before buying is the Windows calibration software, which is not due until early October. For photography-first workflows, the WQHD SW272QN is the alternative.
