On June 26, 2025, Anker Japan Co., Ltd. (Anker) announced a voluntary recall of four mobile battery products. The stated reason is a quality problem in the "battery cells" made by the company's contract supplier, which could cause an internal short circuit and lead to fire. The four products shown in the article thumbnail are the targets of the voluntary recall. If you own a targeted product, you are eligible to receive either a replacement or a refund.
You can confirm whether your product is subject to the voluntary recall on the Anker official page below. If you own a similar product, please be sure to check it. https://www.ankerjapan.com/pages/202506-support
Anker has opened a phone-based inquiry desk. Reception hours are 9:00 to 17:00 including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, and email inquiries are also accepted.
In September 2024, Anker had already begun a voluntary recall on two mobile battery products*, but following Anker's additional investigation, the recall has now been expanded to a total of four products**[1].
According to Anker's investigation, it was determined that materials that do not meet Anker's quality standards were used in the internal components of the "battery cells" made by the contractor**[1]. This can result in an internal short circuit and, in the worst case, may lead to fire. (As of September 2024, no incidents had been reported within Japan*[1].)
Anker has not disclosed the name of the contract supplier in question in its official announcement, but the battery cell parts in question are supplied by a Chinese battery cell maker called "Amprius (Wuxi) Co., Ltd." (安普瑞斯(无锡)有限公司) to multiple brands including Anker and UGREEN, and the company's CCC certification (3C certification, China Compulsory Certification, roughly equivalent to Japan's PSE mark) has been confirmed to be temporarily suspended since June 10, 2025.
