OnePlus has introduced the OnePlus N6x, a budget model for the Indian market. It sits in the sub-20,000-rupee bracket and pairs a 7,000mAh battery with a 3.5mm headphone jack, a port the brand had dropped since 2023. Pricing starts at 18,999 rupees (about 32,000 yen) for the 4GB + 64GB configuration, with sales beginning on August 4, 2026.

A New Entry Point Below 20,000 Rupees

The OnePlus N6x sits underneath the existing OnePlus N6. The 4GB + 64GB model costs 18,999 rupees and the 128GB version costs 20,999 rupees (about 36,000 yen), both for India. Two colors are offered: Burgundy Red and Ice Blue.

Sales start at noon Indian Standard Time on August 4, 2026, through the OnePlus India online store, Amazon.in, and OnePlus Experience Stores. As a launch offer, buyers using selected bank cards get an instant discount of 1,500 rupees (about 2,600 yen).

OnePlus uses phrases such as "segment's leading" throughout the product page, but its own footnotes make clear that the comparison is limited to the 15,000 to 20,000 rupee price band in India. That is worth keeping in mind, since it is not a claim about the wider market.

A 7,000mAh Cell Built to Hold 80 Percent After Six Years

The battery is the centerpiece here. Capacity is 7,000mAh, and OnePlus says a single charge lasts up to 2.5 days. Its own lab figures list 12.05 hours of gaming, 20.56 hours of video playback, 133.56 hours of music playback, and 54.36 hours of calls. These are internal measurements, so real-world endurance will vary with usage and signal conditions.

More interesting than the capacity is what OnePlus says about degradation. The company claims the cell withstands 1,600 charge cycles and retains more than 97.04 percent of its health after one year and more than 80 percent after six years. Entry-level phones tend to stay in service for a long time, so that emphasis makes sense.

Wired charging tops out at a modest 15W, but the phone supports bypass charging that feeds power straight to the system during gaming, 5W reverse charging, and a night charging mode that paces the charge to the user's sleep schedule. Rather than chasing charging-speed numbers, the design leans toward keeping the cell healthy.

The Headphone Jack and microSD Are Back

This is the first OnePlus phone with a 3.5mm headphone jack since the Nord CE3 Lite in 2023. Many manufacturers have abandoned the port, but for anyone still using wired earphones it is a straightforward gain. Storage can also be expanded by microSD card, up to 2TB.

The chipset is the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex, the same silicon used in the higher-end OnePlus N6. OnePlus measures it at more than 608,900 points in AnTuTu. The 4GB of physical memory can be supplemented by 4GB of virtual memory carved out of storage, for an effective 8GB. Thermal management comes from a 5,300 square millimeter vapor chamber.

A 6.8-Inch 120Hz Screen and MIL-STD-810H Durability

The display is a 6.8-inch (17.30cm) HD+ LCD with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The HD+ resolution limits sharpness, but scrolling smoothness is respectable for the price band. Practical touches include Aqua Touch for operating the screen with wet fingers and Ultra Volume, which raises output by up to 300 percent.

Durability covers IP64 dust and splash resistance plus MIL-STD-810H shock resistance. OnePlus says testing included 25 consecutive drops onto marble and exposure to high and low temperature extremes. Software is OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, with a claimed smooth experience of 36 months on the 64GB model and 48 months on the 128GB model.

The cameras are a minimal 13MP rear and 5MP front pairing, though the full set of editing tools is present, including AI Eraser, AI Unblur, AI Reflection Eraser, and AI Recompose. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side.

Summary

The OnePlus N6x is a budget phone built around practicality: a 7,000mAh battery with a long service-life claim, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD slot. The HD+ LCD and 13MP camera are clear compromises, but they are consistent with an 18,999 rupee price. So far the announcement covers only the Indian market, and OnePlus has said nothing about availability elsewhere, Japan included.
