KTC has released the 25M2 Pro, a 24.5-inch Full HD gaming display, in Japan. It pairs a 360Hz native refresh rate (400Hz when overclocked) with a detachable shading hood and a handheld controller for on-screen settings. The list price is 44,980 yen including tax, though launch-period discounts bring the street price down into the low 30,000-yen range. The model number is H25X8, placing it in KTC's competitive gaming lineup.

Fast IPS Handles the 400Hz Mode

The panel is a 24.5-inch Fast IPS running at Full HD (1,920×1,080). Refresh rate is 360Hz by default and climbs to 400Hz when overclocked. Response time is stated differently depending on the source: KTC's official product page lists 1ms (GtG), while the Japanese announcement quotes 0.5ms. Either way, this is a panel chosen to suppress motion blur.

A 24.5-inch Full HD combination is not the choice you make for image quality in 2026. But actually driving 400Hz demands a matching frame rate from the GPU, and holding the resolution down keeps that demand realistic. As a trade-off aimed at competitive titles, it holds together.

Color coverage is generous for an esports model. KTC lists 99 percent sRGB coverage, 126 percent sRGB volume, 96 percent DCI-P3 coverage and 94 percent Adobe RGB, with color accuracy rated below Delta E 2 and 16.7 million colors at 8 bit. Typical brightness is 400 nits, static contrast is rated 1000 to 1, and viewing angles reach 178 degrees.

A Shading Hood Plus an External Controller

The dual-sided shading hood included in the box defines the product's silhouette. Its inner surface is flocked to absorb light, cutting reflections from room lighting or windows. It detaches, so it can come off for everyday use.

The second distinguishing feature is the external controller that connects through a mini-USB port. The joystick-style unit handles power, input switching and game mode selection from the desk, sparing the usual hunt for buttons behind the panel. The more often you change display settings, the more that matters.

For eye comfort, the monitor includes hardware-level low blue light, flicker-free operation via DC dimming, and a Shadow Boost mode that lifts visibility in dark scenes. Adaptive Sync is supported to keep tearing in check.

Four Video Inputs and a Fully Adjustable Stand

Video inputs total four: two HDMI 2.0 and two DisplayPort 1.4. Bandwidth splits their roles, however. HDMI tops out at 1,920×1,080 at 240Hz, and only DisplayPort can deliver 400Hz. Also on board are one USB 2.0 port, one headphone output and one mini-USB port for the controller.

The stand supports tilt from -5 to 35 degrees, swivel, 90-degree pivot and 150mm of height adjustment. VESA 100×100mm mounting means it can move to a monitor arm. A headset hook and a base with a printed scale for repeating the same viewing angle round out the design. The chassis measures 582×518×245mm, and power input is 100V-240V at 50/60Hz, 1.5A. KTC advertises warranty coverage of up to three years.

44,980 Yen List, 32,382 Yen with the Coupon

The expected street price in Japan is 44,980 yen including tax. At launch, however, a 20 percent time-sale discount is stacked with a 10 percent coupon code, 10PROMM2, bringing the total to 32,382 yen including tax.

For reference, KTC's US store lists the same monitor at 249.99 USD (about 39,000 yen), down from a regular price of 349.99 USD (about 55,000 yen). The Japanese sale price lands close to that discounted overseas figure.

※1 USD = 157 JPY (as of August 5, 2026)

Summary

The 25M2 Pro combines a 24.5-inch Full HD Fast IPS panel at 360Hz (400Hz overclocked) with a dual-sided shading hood and an external controller in the box. The 400Hz mode is limited to DisplayPort, but color coverage and stand adjustment are well stocked for the price bracket. Japanese pricing is 44,980 yen including tax, falling into the low 30,000-yen range once the launch sale and coupon are applied.
