Apple has released a new version of iOS, 12.0.1. This update appears to be focused mainly on bug fixes.
It fixes an issue where iPhone XS devices wouldn't start charging, among other things, so updating is recommended.
The detailed changes are as follows.
- Fixes an issue where iPhone XS devices may not immediately begin charging when connected to a Lightning cable
- Resolves an issue where iPhone XS devices reconnect to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network instead of 5GHz
- Restores the ".?123" key on the iPad keyboard to its previous location
- Fixes an issue where subtitles were not displayed in video playback apps
- Addresses an issue where Bluetooth could become unavailable
- Fixes an issue where SMS/MMS could not be sent or received on iPhone 5s
The update size is 106.8MB, so it's relatively light.
The update can be installed from "Software Update" on your iPhone or iPad.
