The server has been restored. The issue has now been resolved.As of 14:52 American time (GMT-4), the server appears to be repeatedly going up and down.

Reports of Duolingo service outages are surging. On X (formerly Twitter), there have been numerous reports worldwide saying "Can't connect to Duolingo" and "I don't want to lose my streak!".
